Immunometabolic Determinants of Long-Term Response in Leukemia Patients Receiving CD19 CAR T Cell Therapy
Co-author
In this City of Hope study published in Nature Communications, Ionic’s founder led the cytometry data analysis and visualization characterizing the pre- and post-infusion immunometabolic profile of CD19 CAR T cells from patients with relapsed/refractory B-cell leukemia. The study identified distinct oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid oxidation, and mitochondrial signatures in long-term versus short-term responders, and demonstrated that transient mTOR inhibition during manufacturing could reprogram CAR T cell metabolism to enhance durability, providing an actionable strategy for improving remission outcomes.
